Ministerial commission supervises release of 335 detainees in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministerial Commission headed by the Deputy Premier, Hussein al-Shahristani, supervised the urgent release of the (335) detainees from the prisons of the Justice Ministry.

A statement by the commission quoted Shahristani as saying during the release ceremony “The release process to those covered by the release decision is ongoing and the commission is determined to address any delay in executing this order,” noting that “The ministerial commission instructed all the concerned sides to carry out this task as soon as possible.”

“The Deputy PM called on the released prisoners to promote the culture of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and brotherhood to help rebuild Iraq,” the statement added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Justice announced that it will release dozens of detainees this afternoon from Tasfirat prison in Baghdad/ Rusafa.
