MP calls Maliki to punish security officials responsible for death of prisoners

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mudhhir al-Janabi, the member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, called the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to punish the security officials behind the death of prisoners under torture.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We call Maliki as being the General Commander of the Armed Forces to punish the security officials who kill the prisoners.”

“Some prisoners such as Mohammed Slaoom al-Jobouri, who was arrested on last Thursday and died after 34 hours due to the torture, are arrested according to vexatious purposes,” he added.

“We have submitted several requests to Maliki and the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, but unfortunately we did not get an answer,” he concluded.
