MP: Parliamentary Committee tasked to investigate corruption to host Shahbander

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The investigation parliamentary committee tasked to investigate the corruption in the armament contract concluded with Russia decided to host MP, Izzat al-Shahbander, of the State of Law Coalition.

The spokesman of the Committee, Adnan al-Shahmani, of the State of Law Coalition stated in a press conference “The Committee decided to host Shahbander because he is the first one who notified the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, over the corruption in the contract.”

“Shahbander is not among the suspected figures and the statements in this regard launched by some of the members of the Integrity Parliamentary Committee are not accurate,” he continued.

“There is no proof over the involvement of any figure in the corruption accompanied these deal which was initial and could be abrogated by the Iraqi or the Russian Governments,” he concluded.
