Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the parliament Security & Defense Committee, MP Shuan Taha, described the share of the Defense Ministry from the Federal Budget of 2013 as fuzzy.

Taha stated to Iraqi News on Thursday “In general, there is blurry in The Defense Ministry’s budget for 2013, also in the policy of the defense system, as for the armament side, we are not against the armament, but we have observations on the armament policy and the balance at the Iraqi Army.”

He continued saying “An agreement was concluded year and a half ago, between Baghdad and Erbil to form two military divisions within the Defense Ministry’s formations named as (mountainous areas formations), however this agreement was adjourned by the Central Government and is enrolled within the pending issues with the Peshmerga Ministry associated to Kurdistan Regional Government.”

He called to change the strategy of the Ministry of Defense through not focusing only on combating terrorism despite this topic’s importance, but it is also necessary to boost the financial allocations of the security ministries and provide jobs for the people, which would help creating an environment that rejects the terrorism.”
