MP warns from presenting Provinces Borders Demarcating law to Parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Izidi Movement for Progress and Reform, MP Ameen Farhan Jijo, called “The wise Iraqis to be careful from the consequences of presenting the Provinces Borders Demarcating law draft to the Parliament.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “This law will complicate the tensed political situation more and more,” noting that “The Iraqi Communities are united despite the security and political instability.”

“Those who call for endorsing this law want to shift the disputes from the politicians to the citizens and tribes to create conflicts over the administrative borders of the provinces which is a very dangerous issue,” he added.

“Kurds want to attach the disputed areas to Kurdistani Region through this law after the failure of the Article 140,” he continued, noting that “They forget that Dhouk was a district attributed to Nineveh province and then turned into a province in 1969.”

It is worth mentioning that the Provinces Borders Demarcating Law was presented to the Parliament Chairmanship by the Legal Committee for a vote.
