MPs rent apartments from Maliki’s cooks, says Sadrist MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mohamed Ridha al-Khafaji of Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend revealed that some MPs who reside in a residential complex in the Green Zone rent their apartments from cooks of the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki.

Khafaji stated to IraqiNews.com that “Many MPs have rented their apartments in Qadisiya complex of the Green Zone from Maliki’s cooks.”

He pointed out “Each privet cook of Maliki owns more than four apartments in Qadisiya complex,” noting that “he has documents for this topic.”

Earlier, Khafaji has revealed that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki granted his Deputy for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani and the Vice President, Khudhayr al-Khuzayi, also his advisors and figures close to him among them MP Hanan al-Fatlawi and MP Shirwan al-Wa’ili pieces of lands on Tigris River’s banks and others in Kadhimiya city of Baghdad.
