Mutleg, Kobler discuss crisis of protests in several Iraqi provinces

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Prime Minister, Salih al-Mutleg, discussed with the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq, Martin Kobler, the latest developments on the Iraqi political arena and the crisis of the protests witnessed by a number of Iraqi provinces.

A statement by Mutleg’s media office cited on Tuesday “The Deputy PM focused during the meeting on the need to meet the demonstrators’ demands. He also urged the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) to take part, according to the international laws, in resolving the existing problems in Iraq.”

“For his part, Kobler confirmed that “UNAMI is still conducting contacts with the different political sides in Iraq to find solutions for the problems and pending issues including the crisis of the protests that are launched in several Iraqi provinces,” the statement concluded.
