Nijaifi condemns defaming Prophet Mohamed, PBUH

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, condemned defaming the Prophet Mohamed, Peace Be Upon Him, assuring that “This offense is contradicted with the religious, humanitarian and sacred values.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We strongly denounce such savage offense against the Prophet Mohamed, PBUH,” noting that “Islam is the religion of brotherhood and tolerance.”

“We also condemn attacking the Embassies and the Consulates which give others the excuses to abuse our religion,” he added.

He called “All sides to show self restrain and to avoid violence that all religions neglect.”

“The development of the countries depend on the cooperation and the relations among them,” he concluded.

Earlier, An offending movie was posted on Youtube website over the Prophet Mohamed, PBUH, and that movie resulted in huge reactions among the Muslims in different countries where the US Embassies were targeted in many places especially in Libya where the US Ambassador was killed.

It is worth mentioning that this movie is supported by Terry Jones, the pastor of the Christian Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, US, who announced he would burn 200 copies of the Holy Quran on the 2010 anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Jones is the author of the book “Islam is of the Devil.”

He has vowed to step up his provocative campaign against Islam. The radical pastor said that he was considering putting Islamic prophet Mohammed ‘on trial’ for his next ‘day of judgment’ publicity stunt.
