Nijaifi, Iraq‘s Ambassador to FAO discuss investing groundwater in agriculture
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Iraqi Ambassador to the Food and Agriculture Organization, Hasan Hadi al-Janabi, discussed “The possibility of presenting the assistance of FAO to invest the groundwater in the agricultural fields.”
A statement by the media office of the parliament received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Nijaifi and Janabi reviewed the FAO assistance in helping to invest the groundwater in the western desert for agriculture.”
“For his part, Janabi assured FAO readiness to organize a seminar over this issue in coordination with the Iraqi specialized sides,” the statement added.
“Both sides reviewed the possibility of forming a Supreme Council for Water to involve qualified figures to exploit and organize the water resources,” the statement concluded.
