Nijaifi meets head of J&A Commission

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, met the head of the Justice and Accountability Commission, Falah Shanshel, who was dismissed by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, two days ago.

A statement by Nijaifi’s office received by IraqiNews.com “Nijaifi received Shanshel t his office in presence of the head of the National Reconciliation Parliamentary Committee, Qais al-Shathar, where they discussed the latest procedures of the J&A Commission.”

“Nijaifi confirmed the support of the parliament to the J&A Commission, assuring that no side can interfere in the performance of the Commission because it is independence and constitutional,” the statement concluded.

Earlier,Maliki commissioned Basim Shareef al-Badri to assume office of the Accountability & Justice Board instead of the former head, Falah Shanshal.

Independent MP Sabah al-Saadi said in a press conference held at the parliament building and attended by IraqiNews.com reporter “Maliki commissioned member of the A & J Board, al-Badri to head the Board instead of ousted head, Shanshal.”

Saadi has announced on last Sunday that Maliki dismissed the head of the A & J Board, Shanshal on background of dismissing the head of the Supreme Federal Court, Midhat al-Mahmoud from his post.
