Nijaifi to UK FM: We reject bringing Iraqis back from UK forcibly

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi refused “The request of the UK Minister of Foreign Affairs, William Hague, to bring back the Iraqis who are illegally in the United Kingdom forcibly.”

A statement by the Iraqi Parliament’s chairmanship cited on Thursday ” During his receiving Hague who visits Iraq currently, Nijaifi explained that the Parliament decided to reject bringing back the Iraqis who illegally resides in the UK in this way as it contracts with the human rights principles.”

He said that “The two sides discussed the bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them to serve the interests of both friendly peoples, also they discuss during the meeting which was attended by the Iraqi FM, Hoshyar Zibari, the political tensions which negatively affect the democratic change and the national partnership in Iraq.”

“Concerning the Syrian crisis, the UK FM stressed the importance to offer the humanitarian aids to the Syrian people and to prevent smuggling weapons to the Syrian territories,” assuring that “We prefer to resolve the crisis in Syria in peaceful ways,” the statement continued.

For his part, Nijaifi confirmed that “The Syrian issue is complicated and we hope from the international organizations to exert further efforts to expedite settling the Syrian crisis.” The statement concluded.
