Nijaifi: UNP nominates Hassani, Esawi for MoD post

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice-President, Osama al-Nijaifi, announced the nomination of the resigned Finance Minister, Rafea al-Essawi, and Hachim al-Hassani, by the Union of the National Powers for the post of the Minister of Defense.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, Nijaifi said “We nominated Hassani and Essawi, for the MoD post,” noting that “Essawi might be preferred by all political bloc due to his position in the western provinces of Iraq and his stances to the former government headed by the outgoing Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.” /End/
