Nusaify rules out endorsing Re-considering Borders law draft

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusaify of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc ruled out the endorsement of the Re-considering Borders law draft because it contains legal and formal mistakes, noting that “This law draft might result in many disputes.”

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Friday, she said “The Re-considering Borders law draft which states to re-consider the Borders that was set after 1968 by the former regime, contradict with Provinces Law No.: 21 in 2008 which awaken the legal role of the provinces because they are settled in their current borders.”

“This law draft will certainly result in disputes that will not be settled,” she added, noting that “This law draft serves some political sides and results in personal interest for those sides.”
