(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon the Turkish Ambassador to protest against the raising of the Turkish flag on a village in Bashiqa north of Mosul, while considered that this action as a violation of the Iraqi sovereignty and an evidence.

The committee member Adnan al-Assadi said in a statement at a press conference attended by IraqiNews.com, “The Turkish troops raised the Turkish flag over Fadiliyah village near Bashiqa District in northern Nineveh,” pointing out that, “This action is a violation of the Iraqi sovereignty and another proof of the Turkish ambitions.”

Assadi called the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to move immediately and summon the Turkish Ambassador to protest against these provocative actions that aim to curb Iraq and undermine its sovereignty.”
