Peshmerga clarifies reason of postponing its meeting with Baghdad delegation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Peshmerga Ministry within Kurdistan Region clarified the reason behind postponing the planned meeting of the joint supreme action commission with Baghdad delegation over running the security in the disputed areas.

The secretary general of Peshmerga Ministry, Maj. Ge. Jabaar Yawar said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday “The meeting that was planned to be held on today Sunday has been postponed because of the official preoccupations and obligations of Baghdad delegation’s members.”

“Today meeting was postponed till next week,” Yawar added noting “Our meetings will continue until resolving all the problems.”

Earlier, MP Shuan Taha has stated that the meeting was postponed under request of the federal defense ministry.

The two delegations of the federal Defense Ministry and Peshmerga Ministry have held a series of meetings over the past few weeks the last of which were on last Sunday in Baghdad,” the source added.

Despite the fact that the past meetings were described as positive, yet both sides did not reach till now final agreement over this file.
