Peshmerga: Essential controversial points emerge during Kurdistan Region & CG meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Peshmerga Ministry of Kurdistan Regional Government revealed about differences in main points in the plan with security delegation of the Iraqi Central Government concerning running the security file in the disputed areas.

A statement by the Peshmerga quoted its secretary general, Maj. Gen. Jabaar Yawar as saying “The supreme Action Committee held a meeting in Erbil on last Wednesday where it was attended by representative from the Iraqi Central Government and Kurdistan Region as well as representatives from the US Consulate in Erbil and the US embassy in Baghdad.”

“The conferees conferred openly about the memorandum presented by the Kurdish delegation in the previous meeting of Baghdad which included full plan for the mutual work and running the security file in the areas outside Kurdistan Region. The meeting also discussed the memorandum submitted orally by the federal government in Baghdad previous meeting,” Yawar added.

He continued saying “There were similarities and differences in the two memorandums about many points, therefore the meeting decided to hold another meeting so as to reach common view and mutual mechanism in managing the disputed areas outside Kurdistan Region territories.”

“The supreme action committee specified 13th, January, to hold its next meeting in Baghdad,” Yawar concluded.

Earlier, security delegation of the federal government has arrived in Erbil on last Wednesday where it held immediate closed meeting with the Kurdish delegation shortly after its arrival.

It was scheduled to sign the final agreement between both of the delegations about the security administration in the disputed areas during Wednesday meeting.
