 We reject laws weakening Iraqi unity, says Abadi to Biden

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Sunday, that Iraq has rejected the proposals of laws and projects that weaken the unity of the country, while US Vice President Joe Biden stressed the need for the armed groups to be under the control of the state led by al-Abadi.

Abadi’s Office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed in a telephone conversation with US Vice President Joe Biden the overall political and security situation, as well as the developments of events, especially with regard to mutual commitment to preserve the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Iraq and non-interference in internal affairs.”

Abadi stressed during the statement, Iraq’s refusal for proposals of laws and projects that weaken the unity of the country and affect its national sovereignty.
