Release of 335 detainees indicates presence of many innocents in Iraqi prisons, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ali al-Timimi of the parliamentary Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend described the release of (335) detainees from the Iraqi prisons as an evidence for presence of many innocent prisoners inside the jails.

Timimi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Saturday “The release of 335 detainees over the past few days indicates that there are a lot of innocent detainees insides the Iraqi prisons, demanding to release all the innocents unconditionally.”

He called the “Government to deal neutrally with this file and move away from the selectivity and the politicization in this file since the issue is purely humanitarian.”

Earlier, 335 detainees were released on last Monday in accordance with the resolutions of the Seven-Side Ministerial Commission tasked to follow up the demonstrators’ demands.
