(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD– Sadrist Movement Leader, Iraqi Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has threatened to target the US troops that will participate in the liberation operation of Mosul- 405 km north of Baghdad.

Sadr, in response to a question from one of his supporters on the US Secretary of Defense’s statements regarding the deployment of 560 additional US troops to help the Iraqi forces in the liberation of the city of Mosul, said, “They are our target.”

On June 11, 2016, US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter stated that the US President Barack Obama has decided to send an additional 560 soldiers to Iraq to help in the reconstruction of al-Qayyarah military base and the liberation operation of Mosul.
