Sadr Trend postpones preliminary elections in Karbala, Najaf

Karbala (IraqiNews.com) Ahrar Bloc of the Sadrist Trend in Karbala Provincial Council announced postponing the preliminary elections for the candidates of the Sadr Trendwho will join the next Provincial Councils’ Elections.

The Director of the Ahrar Bloc’s Office In Karbala, Hakim al-Morshedi said "The preliminary elections of candidates of the Ahrar Bloc which was scheduled to be conducted in Karbala, on Friday, June 29, were postponed until further notice due to preoccupation of the Martyr Sadr Office in equipping processions for the Pilgrimage of the middle of Sha’ban to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) which will coincide with the end of the current week," expecting to "delay the elections till after Ramadan holy month."

"The Preliminary elections have been also postponed in Najaf till after Ramadan," he added without clarifying the reason of this postponement. /End/
