Sadrist MP: Negotiations to reform Karbala government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Amir Abdul Jabbar, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend announced that there are negotiations to reform the local government of Karbala province to involve all sides.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “There is a call to have partnership in forming the local governments by the main political blocs, but the political blocs did not achieve an agreement over this issue where each government started to negotiate with its members to form its government.”

“The procedures followed in forming the local governments are incorrect where we hoped to form partnership governments, but unfortunately we could not make it because all the blocs wanted to have the governor’s post,” he added.

Regarding forming Karbala government, he said “Nominating the governor and the chairman of Karbala Provincial Council form the same bloc is incorrect where there are some negotiations to reform this government.”

Earlier, Karbala PC nominated the current General Inspector of the Ministry of Interior, Akeel al-Turaihi, the Governor of Karbala province and, Nusaiyf Jasim, as the Chairman of Karbala PV where both of them are from the State of Law Coalition.
