Sihail denounces Tuz Khurmato bombing

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The First Deputy Speaker, Qusai al-Sihail, denounced the terrorist bombing that took place in Tuz Khurmato district that targeted a solace in Sayid al-Shuhada Mosque.

A statement by Sihail’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday cited “The criminals targeted the citizens of the Turkmen Community in Said al-Shuhada Mosque which reflects the meanness of the criminals’ believes to target the innocents.”

“Sihail called to protect the Turkmen Community, expressed his condolence to the victims’ family and wishing the quickest recovery to the injured,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, 87 civilians were killed and injured, on Wednesday, among them Salah il-Din Governor Undersecretary, Ahmed Abdul Wahid, and the Secretary General of the Turkmen Front, Ali Hashim, due to suicide bombing in Tuz Khurmatu district.

Security source told Iraqi News on Wednesday “A suicide bomber detonated himself amid mourning ceremony in Tuz Khurmatu of eastern Tikrit city resulted in killing (42) persons and injuring (45) others including Salah il-Din Governor Undersecretary and Secretary General of the Turkmen Front.”

“The ambulances rushed to the incident place and transported the wounded persons to a hospital while the dead bodies were sent to the morgue,” the source added.

“The security forces cordoned off the spot in anticipation of another terrorist attack,” the source concluded.
