SIIC, PUK stress necessity of consolidating mutual relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan stressed the necessity of consolidating the bilateral relations.

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “The First Deputy of the Secretary General of the PUK, Kosrat Rasoul, received at the political office of the PUK in Sulaimaniyah, the leaders within the SIIC, Adel Abdul Mahdi, Mouhsin al-Hakim and the accompanying delegation where they wished the quickest recovery for the President, Jalal Talabani.”

“During the meeting, the two sides assured the importance of the historical relations between the SIIC and the PUK in addition to Talabani’s vital role in improving these relations,” the statement added, “noting that “Rasoul expressed his wishes for the quick return to Talabani to Iraq to resume his tasks.”

“For its part, the SIIC delegation stressing the necessity of developing the bilateral relations to serve the peoples of Iraq and Kurdistan Region,” the statement concluded.
