SLC MP calls to cancel re-considering borders between Iraqi-Kuwaiti in Saffan, Um Qaser areas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mansour al-Timimi, of the State of Law Coalition called to stop re-considering the borders between Iraq and Kuwait in Safwan and Um Qaser areas.

In a press conference he at the parliament building in Basra province, he said “Re-considering the borders according to the agreement of the UN has a big impact on Iraq especially in Safwan and Um Qaser areas in addition to violating the rights of the citizens in these areas.”

“The decision, though it is rejected by the Iraqis and the parliament members, might create tensions and disturb the mutual relations between Iraq and Kuwait,” he added.

“The specialized sides must stop the procedures of re-considering the borders till achieving the final deal between the two sides and compensating the citizens of these areas,” he concluded.
