Sunday session to prove parliament not hindering endorsement of laws, says Wardi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Liqa Wardi, of the Iraqiya Slate assured “The aim behind holding the parliament urgent session on next Sunday is to prove that the parliament is not hindering the endorsement of laws.”

She stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The session will be devoted to discuss the demonstrators’ demands like the General Amnesty, Justice and Accountability as well as the Federal Court Laws.”

“These demands will discussed in several sessions because the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, blamed the parliament of hurdling the laws,” she added.

“Then we will realize whether the parliament or the ruling party is hindering the endorsement of the laws,” she mentioned.

“Some of the demands could be accomplished through laws where they want to replace Justice and Accountability law with the National Reconciliation law and the Article 4 of Anti-Terrorism law to be replaced with Anti-Corruption law,” she concluded.
