Talabani describes Kurdish-Shiites alliance as "Never being lie"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani stated in a letter he had sent to Ammar al-Hakim the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, that the Kurdish-Shiite alliance was never a lie and it was the tool to unite the Iraqi people.

Talabani stressed in the letter sent to Hakim on the occasion of the 30th SIIC anniversary “The alliance between the Kurds and Iraqi Shiites could unite the Iraqi people.”

Talabani congratulated Hakim and appreciating the essential role of the SIIC under the leadership of Muhammad Baqir Al-Hakim in toppling Saddam Husain’s regime in 2003, assuring that the party had worked as a uniting tool since its establishment.

“After the murder of Muhammad Baqer al-Hakim, he was succeeded by Abdu al-Aziz al-Hakim who continued managing SICI with his great knowledge to help establish a united country by creating an alliance between the Shiite and Kurdish parties,” he added

“This Alliance was created to unify the Arab and the Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites, adding that the alliance which had united the Iraqi people could never be a lie,” he concluded.

Earlier, Sami al-Askari leader in National Iraqi Alliance said in an interview that the alliance between the Kurds and Arab Shiites was a lie.
