Talabani, Nides discuss Iraqi, regional developments

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani, received, Thomas Nides, US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday.

A Presidential statement received by IraqiNews.com cited “Talabani received Nides where the two sides discussed the overall developments in Iraq and the region.

“Talabani stressed the importance of Iraqi- US relations in the light of the agreement signed between the two countries, stressing the necessity of consultation between the two sides on important issues and developments in Iraq and the region,” the statement added.

“Nides, for his part, expressed his country’s keenness on Iraq‘s stability and development of the democratic experiment in light of the political process,” the statement assured.

“He also praised Talabani’s efforts in bringing the views closer among the political parties to avoid disputes,” the statement concluded.
