Turkmen Ellie Party criticizes rate of Turkmen’s representation within IA divisions in disputed areas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The political office of the Turkmen Ellie Party described identifying the representation rate of the Turkmen in the Defense Ministry’s divisions in the disputed areas by 10% as great mistake.

A statement by the Party cited that “The Turkmen Ellie Party renewed its call to make the representation of the Turkmen component within the Iraqi Army’s segments 3/1 in the disputed areas.”

The statement quoted the Party’s secretary Riyadh Sari Kahiya as saying “We would like to congratulate the Iraqi Army on occasion of the 92th anniversary of its establishment,” noting “The Turkmen made up since the Abbasid era important weight within the IA ranks.”

“Identifying the representation of the Turkmens in the IA by 10% is unfair where it should be 3/1,” he added.

Earlier, Kurdistan Regional Government has revealed on last Saturday increasing the rate of the Turkmens’ representation with the federal army in the disputed areas by ten times.
