Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Turkmen MP Hassan Ozmen threatened to resort to the UN if the Iraqi Government does not meet the Turkmens’ demands over providing security to their regions.

Ozmen told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We had called the Government more than once to form security forces comprising Turkmens to secure their own areas and to adopt balance in the formation of the security forces in Kirkuk and Tuz Khurmatu district.”

He stressed “In case the Iraqi Government did not answer our demands concerning securing our regions, then we will resort to the UN and call for international security forces as Iraq is still subject to the UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter.”

“The targeting of Turkmens is planned and systemized since 2003 and aims at displacing the Turkmens and forcing them to leave Iraq as their regions enjoy great natural resources,” he added.

Tuz Khurmatu district of Salah il-Din province which is resided mostly by Turkmens witnessed a bloody suicide bombing, targeting mourning ceremony resulted in killing and injuring dozens of citizens./ End/
