UK Minister of Energy, Iraqi officials discuss enhancing common cooperation
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The British Minister of Energy visited Iraq on Wednesday to discuss the bilateral relations and the regional situations.
The director of the media office at the UK embassy in Baghdad, Bob Philipson, said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “The UK Secretary of State for International Energy Affairs, Mark Simmonds, visited Baghdad where he met with senior officials to discuss the bilateral relations and developing the common cooperation between both countries especially in the commercial and economic fields.”
“The meetings also discussed terminating the violence in Syria,” the statement added.
“Simmonds visited the Iraqi Minister for foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zibari, and the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahristani, as well as meeting top officials in the Ministries of Electricity and Environment,” the statement concluded.
