Yezidi MP calls Maliki to involve Communities in dialogues between Kurdistan Region, Central Government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Yezidi Movement for Reformation and Progress, Amin Farhan Jijo, called the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to involve the Communities in the dialogues between Kurdistan Region and the Central Government over the disputed areas.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday, he said “There are some reports state that the two sides will reach a settlement over the disputes areas, such as the agreement that was conducted in 2009.”

“This agreement is unconstitutional because it was set during the US occupation to Iraq and the USA was active in the disputed areas and with the security forces in those areas,” he added, noting that “Applying this agreement, without informing the Communities, is a transgression to their rights and the constitution because they have to agree over any decisions related to them.”

“We call Maliki to involve all the Communities especially the Yezidi one in the dialogues conducted between the two sides and related to the disputed areas,” he concluded.
