Zebari , British Ambassador to Iraq discuss mutual relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A special farewell dinner held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, hosted by Mr. Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, in honor of UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Simon Collis on the occasion of ending his mission.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Iraqi News cited “The banquet was attended by British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, the British Minister for International Development and a number of foreign ambassadors accredited in Baghdad.”

“The minister briefed the invited guests the talks on forming a new government in the light of the ongoing dialogues about the program and the Platform for Action of the next government, as well as ways to take advantage of the growing international support for Iraq in its response to confront ISIL terror, and to support the humanitarian efforts of large subsidy of displaced persons and bring them back to their homes safely,” the statement continued.

“Foreign Minister also praised the efforts of the British ambassador to Iraq during the period of his work in advancing bilateral relations and strengthening them, and the position of the United Kingdom in supporting Iraq for standing against terrorism and deliver humanitarian aid to those affected and to enable the military in light of the current challenges,” the statement concluded. /End/
