Zebari, Salihi discuss challenges face Islamic world

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salihi, in Cairo on Wednesday.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday cited “Zebari met salihi in Cairo on the margins of the Conference of the Islamic Cooperation Organization where they discussed the Islamic Conference agenda and the Foreign Ministers’ preparatory meetings for the Islamic Summit.”

“They stressed the importance of the Islamic solidarity and the political and development challenges facing the Islamic World,” the statement added.

“They also reviewed the two countries’ stances regarding the bilateral relations, regional developments, and the Syrian crisis where the Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt and the Iraqi Permanent Representative to the League of Arab Countries attended the meeting,” the statement concluded.
