(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Baghdad Investment Commission announced on Thursday that a local company has initiated the establishment of a residential-tourism complex on the banks of the Tigris River in northern Baghdad; further informing that the total cost of the project would be around 240 million US dollars.

Informing about the establishment of the tourism project, the Head of Baghdad Investment Commission Shaker al-Zameli, in a statement issued to the media said, “Housing crisis, high rent and building materials crisis as well as the increasing number of slums inside the capital motivated the investment commission to find possible solution for solving these crises. The commission granted an investment license to Defaf al-Nahraen company in order to establish ‘Tigris Dream City’ residential-tourism project on the banks of the Tigris River at al-Atiffiyah in northern Baghdad.”

He added, “The company will initiate the establishment of the project with a total cost price of 240 million US dollars at an area of 54 acres. The project will consist of three buildings including 984 housing units of different areas and it will also include a 5-star hotel at an area of 36 thousand square meter.”

“The project will feature a special hall for events and meetings because of its proximity to a religious area. Apart from these, restaurants, entertainment areas, a health center, a mall, a school and a nursery will also be features of the project,” Zameli continued.
