Baghdad paid $ 427 million to Kurdistan region of budget’s dues

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday that the central government has paid 427 million dollars of budget’s dues to the Kurdistan region for the month of May.
“Reuters” news agency quoted Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari as saying that, “Baghdad spent a batch of 508 billion dinars, which is equivalent to 426.73 million dollars for the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of dues in the budget for the month of May.”
This amount represents about half of what was allocated to the region in the 2015 budget, but Zebari said that is due to the large-scale cuts in spending.
