Baiji-Baghdad gas pipeline re-operated

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The gas pipeline between Baiji and Baghdad cities was re-operated on Tuesday after a hiatus of more than two years, an official spokesman for the oil ministry said. “The technicians and engineers of the ministry’s pipelines company managed on Tuesday to bring the pipeline back to service after more than two years of stoppage due to 64 acts of sabotage in recent years,” Asim Jihad told IraqiNews.com. “The 16-knot diameter pipeline feeds al-Taji gas station and the lamp and glass fibers plants in al-Taji city, northern Baghdad,” said Jihad. He noted that coordination was reached with the competent security agencies to provide protection for this “important” pipeline. AmR (P) 1
