(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Ministry of Electricity announced the loss of nearly 2,000 megawatts of power due to the shortage in gas and fuel supply from the Ministry of Oil, while pointed out that additional generating units will stop in the coming period with the continued shortage in fuel and gas.

The Ministry’s spokesman Musab al-Mudaris said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The national electricity system has lost more than 2000 megawatts of power due to the shortage in gas and fuel supply from the Ministry of Oil,” adding that, “This loss has reflected negatively on the electrical power supplied to the residents of southern and central provinces, as well as Middle Euphrates.”
