Iraq, Iran discuss common cooperation in economic sector

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Authority for Free Zones associated to the Iraqi Ministry of Finance discussed with the economic advisor at the Iranian embassy to Iraq, Baqer Juwaini, the common cooperation between the two countries in the economic sector.

The Director General of the Authority, Sabah Salih al-Qaisi, said that “A delegation headed by Juwaini visited the Free Zones’s headquarter where he discussed with the officials there the prospects of developing the mutual coordination and activating the commercial exchange.”

“The delegation provided a detailed explanation about possibility of establishing a joint free zone to practice the service, commercial and industrial activities,” he added.

Qaisi concluded by pointing out that “For their part, the officials of the Authority expressed willingness to offer all kinds of support to ensure the success of the proposal for its importance in revitalizing the investment movement and diversify the state revenues and motivate the national economy.”
