(IraqiNews.com) On Friday, the  Iraqi  Oil Ministry announced that Iraq is losing $1.2 billion dollars a month as of last March because of the stop of Iraqi exports through the Kirkuk – Ceyhan pipeline, indicating that this money was supposed to enter into the financial budget for 2014 revenues.

Ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said in an interview for IraqiNews.com “Iraq is losing daily export rates from 300 to 400 000 barrels because Iraqi exports through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan line have been stopped since the beginning of the month of March of this year,” explaining that “export operations through this tube achieved revenues of one billion and 200 million dollars per month in the past.”

Jihad added that “the pipeline stopped working because of repeatedly targeted by terrorist gangs”, adding that “the earned funds from this tube was supposed to enter Iraqi financial revenues and the budget for 2014. “
