 Iraq’s economy will emerge stronger from current crisis, says Abadi

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi expressed his confidence that the Iraqi economy will overcome the current financial crisis, while thanked the German government for granting Iraq a loan of 500 million euros.

The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin followed by IraqiNews.com, “Imports of Iraqi crude oil decreased to 15% compared with its levels two years ago because of the significant decline in oil prices.”

Abadi called to take advantage of the financial crisis to diversify the economic resources, while expressed his confidence in the ability of Iraqi economy in overcoming the financial crisis and emerge stronger.

Abadi also thanked the German government for granting Iraq a loan of 500 million euros, while emphasized the importance of this loan to complete the projects, modernize the Iraqi economy and provide solutions for the displaced people.”
