Kirkuk oil and gas companies are safe according to governor

Kirkuk’s Provincial Council assured that the security situation in the city are stable. He pointed out that the oil and gas companies are safe and are being protected by the police and Peshmarga.
Kirkuk’s governor Najmiddin Karim said, “The Peshmerga security forces have replaced the Iraqi military and we are in contact with Baghdad to discuss the ISIS controlled areas.”

The governor inspected the Peshmarga and the Iraqi police who are stationed on the road that is southwest of Kirkuk.

He added, “The oil and gas companies are safe because they are being protected by the Peshmarga and the police.” He asked the citizens to go back to their jobs because the police and the Peshmarga will guarantee their safety.

Tikrit, Salah Aldin, Alhawija, Alabasi, Alriadh, Alrashad, and Mouselhave fallen under the control of ISIS in the past week.
