Kurdistan Region oil exports to Turkey rise to 300,000 barrels per day

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Natural Resources in Kurdistan Region announced an increase in crude oil export volume to Turkey to 300,000 barrels per day and confirmed plans to increase its exports to 400,000 barrels per day to Turkey by the end of this year.

On Saturday the ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com that “in the first week of November of this year 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day have started to be exported from Kurdistan Region to Turkey,” indicating that “last August crude oil exports through the Turkey-Kurdistan pipeline registered 185,000 barrels per day.”

He added that “the amount of oil exports to Turkey increased during the past four months by 60%,” adding that “the ministry plans to increase the volume of oil production to 400,000 barrels per day by the end of this year.”

The ministry predicted in a statement that “it will raise the production by the first quarter of next year to 500,000 barrels per day,” adding that “its production will reach 1 million barrels per day by the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016.”
