Mayahi urges Parliament to pass 2003 budget prior to end of 2012
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Aziz al-Mayahi of the Parliamentary Economy & Investment Committee, called the Iraqi Parliament to endorse the budgets of the Defense and Trade Ministries prior to end of the current year.
Mayahi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “The annual budgets of the Defense and Trade Ministries are very crucial where the Defense Ministry needs financial allocations for armament process and purchasing weapons in order to be ready for the current challenges in light of the internal threats and regional unrests.”
“On other hand, Trade Ministry also needs funds to cover the Ration Card’s financial requirements as the citizens’ livelihood depends primarily on it,” he added.
Mayahi concluded by confirming “Some political blocs attempt to delay the endorsement of 2013 federal budget so as to disturb the Government’s performance, hence, we call them to put the interests of the Iraqi people in their minds and move away from the political deals and outbidding.”
