Parliamentary Financial Committee confirms not receiving general budget from Government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Financial Committee confirmed that “It did not receive the draft law of the general budget of 2013 from the Government yet.”

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Ahmad Faidhullah, cited in a statement to IraqiNews.com “The financial allocations of the Supreme Judicial Council as well as the Ministries are identified through meeting them and agree with them on those allocations,” noting that “The general budget is not based on the annual actual needs of those institutions.”

Concerning deleting the zeros from the current Iraqi currency, Faidhullah said that “The deletion of zeros from the currency will not create financial, economic or monetary problem but some people exaggerate this issue,” stressing that “It is just an ordinary process of changing currency and it takes time till the people get accustomed to it.”

He emphasized necesssity to “forbid the currency manipulators who take advantage of changing the currency from damaging the Iraqi economy.”
