(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A source at the North Oil Company in Kirkuk province announced on Wednesday, that the pumping of oil from the company’s fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan has been halted due to a technical glitch in the Iraq-Turkey line inside the Turkish territory, predicting that the company will re-export within the next 48 hours after repairing of the defect.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Kirkuk oilfields exports stopped this afternoon through the pipeline line that crosses the Kurdish region to the Turkish port of Ceyhan due to a technical defect in inside Turkish territory,” explaining that, “Export rates were between 275 and 300 thousand barrels per day.”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “North Oil Company production ups to 450 thousand barrels,” expecting the resumption of oil production within the next 48 hours.
