(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Southern Oil Company announced on Monday, that the oil exports from Iraq’s southern fields will reach about 3.25 million barrels per day in 2016.

The head of the Southern Oil Company Hayan Abdul-Ghani Abdul-Zahra said in an interview by “Reuters” followed by IraqiNews.com, “oil exports from south of the country will see a modest growth up to about 3.25 million barrels per day in 2016,” explaining that “the country is facing difficulty in increasing production.”

Exports from the port of Basra in the south amounted in the month of August 3.021 million barrels per day, according to the latest available data.
