Um Qasr Port receives giant ship on Monday.

Basra (IraqiNews.com) Um Qasr port received the giant Liberian ship, Balayn, which enters the Iraqi ports for the firs time.

A statement by the Ministry of Transport received by IraqiNews.com cited “The giant ship is loaded with 935 containers,” noting that “This is the maximum shipment reached the port in 2014.”

“Receiving this ship proves the port is huge and ready to receive the giant ships,” the statement concluded.
