 Unprecedented rise in oil exports last May, says Iraqi Oil Ministry

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Oil Ministry announced on Monday, that occurrence of “unprecedented” rise of the quantities of exported oil crude in the month of May exceeding 97 million barrels, confirming that the revenue rate reached more than five billion dollars.

The official spokesman for the Oil Ministry, Assem Jihad, said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “preliminary statistical issued by the Iraqi oil marketing company SOMO amounted to 97,000,504 barrels, during the month of May,” noting that, “the financial revenues from these exports amounted to five billion dollars, while the average price for sale was 55 per barrel.”

Jihad added, “Daily exports of crude oil rate has recorded a rise, reaching approximately 3.145 million,” noting that “this rise has not been achieved during the past decades.”
