URGENT: Emirates Airlines stops its flights from and to Arbil as of August 10

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, an informed source revealed that Emirates Airlines will stop its flights to and from the province of Erbil as of August 10.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com that “flights between the Emirates Airlines and Erbil province north of the country will cease with effect from 10 August,” without giving further details.

The head of the civil aviation authority, Nasser Al-Shibli announced (in August 3, 2014)that the Iraqi airspace is safe and Baghdad airport is fortified ;there are planes that work to protect the airport, emphasizing that the aviation authority did not receive any request on non traffic in the airspace of Iraq.
