Zebari expects a 23 trillion dinar deficit in 2015 budget

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari stated he expects a 23 trillion dinar worth deficit in the 2015 budget approved by the cabinet today.

‘Reuters’ quoted Zebari as saying, “The Council of Ministers approved today the draft budget of  2015 worth 123 trillion dinars,” pointing out that, “It is expected the budget will go through a deficit of 23 trillion dinars.”

The Finance Minister said that, “The budget will be presented to Parliament soon after adjusting its formulation by a committee led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi,” expecting that “The committee will meet tomorrow and then forward the draft budget to the parliament.”

The Cabinet approved earlier on Tuesday the adoption of the law draft of the general 2015 budget valued at 123 trillion dinars, emphasizing the formation of a ministerial committee to make some arrangements and send it to the parliament.
